See prices and availabilityUmah Bagus is a guest house in Sanur, on the south-east coast of Bali, set in Gang Nuri, a lane just off the Jl. By Pass Ngurah Rai. Matahari Terbit Beach, known as Sunrise Beach and a departure point for boats to Nusa Lembongan, is less than 1 km away, and Sindhu Beach and the seafront promenade are within walking distance.
There are two room types, the Double or Twin Room and the Deluxe Double Room, each measuring 25 m² and sleeping two. Both come with air conditioning, a king-size bed, a wardrobe, tiled floors and a private bathroom with shower, bidet and free toiletries, and the free Wi-Fi is fast enough for streaming and video calls.
Between beach days, guests can swim in the outdoor pool, relax on the terrace or cook in the shared kitchen. Airport transfers and other shuttles can be arranged at extra charge, bikes and cars can be hired, massages are available, and free parking is on site with advance reservation.

Umah Bagus keeps things simple with two room types, both 25 m² and designed for two guests. Each has air conditioning, a king-size bed, a wardrobe with clothes rack, tiled floors and a socket near the bed, plus a private bathroom with shower, bidet, an additional toilet, towels and free toiletries.
All rooms are non-smoking and the free Wi-Fi reaches them too. As the two options are so close in size and equipment, the easiest approach is to compare both when you check availability for your dates.
Life at Umah Bagus is easy-going: an outdoor swimming pool and a terrace for slow afternoons, a shared kitchen for cooking your own meals, and massages available at extra charge. Getting around is simple too, with bicycle rental (extra charge), car hire, public transport tickets, plus shuttle and airport transfers at extra charge.
Luggage storage helps on the day you catch a boat to the islands, laundry is available, and free Wi-Fi, tested by the host at 94 Mbps, copes with streaming and video calls. Parking is free on site, with reservation needed.
Umah Bagus sits in Sanur Kaja, in Gang Nuri, a lane just off the Jl. By Pass Ngurah Rai. Cafés and restaurants are a couple of minutes away on foot, and the beaches of Matahari Terbit, Sindhu and Padang Galak all lie within about 20 minutes' walk.
Ngurah Rai International Airport is about 17 km away. The drive usually takes around 30 minutes but can stretch to an hour at busy times, and the Bali Mandara Toll Road avoids the Kuta traffic. Official taxis wait outside arrivals, while Grab and Gojek use a pickup zone in the airport car park. The property can arrange an airport shuttle at extra charge, which is worth considering if you land late: check-in closes at 20:00 and your arrival time is needed in advance. For island hopping, fast boats to Nusa Penida (around 20–30 minutes) and Nusa Lembongan leave from Sanur's beachfront harbour, a 10–15 minute walk away; book ahead, as departures end by late afternoon and ride-hailing drivers can't pick up at the harbour itself.
Sanur is known for calm, reef-protected water and a seafront promenade of around 5 km, best explored on foot or by bike, and bicycles can be rented at the guest house. Matahari Terbit, literally Sunrise Beach, is the place to watch the sun come up over the sea. Along the seafront, the Le Mayeur Museum, founded in 1957, displays paintings by Adrien-Jean Le Mayeur together with his collection of traditional Balinese art. In the evening, the Sindhu Night Market gathers locals and visitors around its food stalls. For history, the Bajra Sandhi Monument in Renon, about 2.6 km away, tells the story of the Balinese people through dioramas. April to October is the dry season, with calm seas ideal for snorkelling and day trips to Nusa Penida; from November to March, Sanur's sheltered water stays calm even when other beaches get rough. Don't come for surf.
